Today’s session was a bit better than the past couple weeks. There were no issues accessing the professor’s zoom meeting, but because they’re using an account without a license, everyone in the class had to leave and rejoin the meeting every 30 minutes. Compared to the past problems though, this was only a minor annoyance. At one point during the session a student wrote on the chat that they didn’t understand how the professor got x degrees from sinx = y, and I was able to explain to the student how to do inverse trig operations with their calculator. It wasn’t a huge deal but it was nice to have an opportunity to actually help out again.

    Hi Jack,

That’s awesome that you got to help a student through the chat. It is a huge deal on the student’s part and yours. Its hard as it is to get people verbally express what they don’t understand much less type it. And the fact that the student felt comfortable enough to reach out to you means that your building a good relationship with the class body.
