Has Memory Achieved its Full capacity?

Since the beginning of the 21st century the world has gone through rapid changes that have affected every aspect of our lives. Such changes can be noticeable in the way we acquired knowledge or simple things as the way we interact and communicate with other people. All of these changes in our lives leave records, which to us might appear unimportant at this time, but for future generations this will represents an opportunity to see the world constant evolution through time. One artifact that I will archive will be the video sharing website YouTube, because like in “Funes, The Memorius” by Jorge Luis Borges, when quotes “In the overly replete world of Funes there were nothing but details, almost contiguous details.” Meaning that Funes had a capacity to remember everything including details, YouTube represents the idea of an archived in which we can sense almost realistically every detail of the context in the video. Another work I think it’s worth saving is the work of designer Hussein Chalayan. His work demonstrates that the combination and interaction of different disciplines such as architecture, technology and design can be mix in order to revolutionized and change the way we see such basic things as clothing. Like in “Hamlet. Doc? Literature in digital age” the use of digital technology for writing it’s a parallel to Hussein work and the way he uses and develops new technology. Lastly the greatest archival generator, the internet is something that surely will not disappear but t in such case, it’s something that it will be worth saving. Not only because the internet it self is an archive that can hold endless history but because it represents the idea of a communal archive .Such idea can be seen in Jorje Luis Borges “Library of Babel” for example its quoted “When it was proclaimed that the Library contained all books, the first impression was one of extravagant happiness. All men felt themselves to be the masters of an intact and secret treasure. There was no personal or world problem whose eloquent solution did not exist in some hexagon.” This represents the very same idea of the internet, that it’s main goal it’s to response and archive the diversity of context that exist in the world.
