First Day of Training!

As I always do, I arrived way too early than I needed. I passed the time by battling down my anxiousness and wondering what I was going to do today. I learned by 9:01am that I didn’t have much to worry about! Natalie and William were super kind and broke everything down that Lu and I would be doing for the next week and a half.

The first “project” was replicating an old poster as close as we possibly can. The catch: the file was riddled with different type of errors that we had to keep an eye out for. This one was fun since typos grind my gears. I had the most fun attempting to replicate logos that were actually provided for me in the given folders… everyone got a good laugh at that!

What I found most difficult was mainly in how I think. After some research I tend to have a few ideas on what I would like to work with but once I start giving them life in Illustrator or InDesign, I never feel they are any good. Usually a taking a step away from what I’m working on helps.

As is usual with the first day and with my personality in general, I come off shy at first meeting. But any time we needed something Lu and I had no problem asking the other about it. I’m sure that by the end of the training we’ll be much more comfortable around each other.
