“Write your worries in the sand, carve your blessings in stone.” – Robert F. Kennedy
The assignment was to select an inspirational quote and creatively use our surroundings to explore, find, or design the letters. I chose this quote because I wanted to create a theme related to the summer vibe. The quote feels heartwarming, conveying a message: as we face struggles in daily life, appreciating ourselves and practicing gratitude encourages us to continue our path.
To create the letters, I used small stones, shells, and wrote in the sand at the beach. I also photographed ocean waves approaching some of the letters as decoration.
The final setup was created in Adobe InDesign, with each photo sized into a 2-inch square. Since some letters were repeated, I arranged them at different angles for variety. For the background, I chose a butter-yellow color to complement the sand.
