The Icon Architect: Susan Kare
I chose Susan Kare for the project because her pixel designs and icons caught my attention, especially her adaptation of the Command key Symbol (⌘) for Apple. One of my favorite designs by her is the bomb icon, which I find playful and iconic. Her work also reminded me of the classic look of old games like Super Mario, and although she did not work on the game directly, her contributions to pixel art and design influenced the visual culture of the time.
For the presentation in Adobe InDesign, I used fonts, icons, and images inspired by Susan Kare’s style to create a visually engaging and informative presentation. Through this project, I have come to admire her creativity and thoughtful approach to user-friendly design.
