My Foodiverse
The task was to create four figure-ground compositions, two ambiguous and two stable art, using simple black & white shapes.
The first step was to create a mind map based on individual curiosities. I chose the universe and food as my theme. I am interested in the universe (solar system, unknown living things, parallel worlds, time, etc). This theme reminds me of a unique movie I watched when I was young, Interstellar. I also love food, and one of my favorite desserts is ice cream.
For my final design, I drew Saturn planets and ice cream types for the stable compositions. For the ambiguous ones, I drew the solar system (depicted like a hypnosis/illusion) and a close-up of melting ice cream with sprinkles, which can be interpreted as any liquid, like paint.
