In the computer industry, the growing technology and massive demand of personal computer (PC) have created numerous business value and commercial potential; simultaneously, the need and rapidly development in computer market also accompany many fundamental problems slowly endangering the environment and out benefits.
Since the live cycle of PCs are shortened along with the revolutionary progresses in computer industry, the elimination rate of outdated computers is also gradually increasing in a nonnegligible speed. According to the statistics from F. Wang’s “Waste Management” research, electrical waste (E-Waste) of desktop PC in China and South Africa will rise by 500% in 2020 compared to their 2007 levels. The report also indicates that in the entire PCs’ electrical waste (E-waste), the desktop tower cases hold the 49.9%. Therefore, if we can eliminate the use metal desktop cases, we can less deal almost half of the E-waste in the waste computer recycling field.
To permanently reduce the large portion of E-waste produced by metal desktop cases, we tend to replace the material of the metal case by recyclable cardboard. Simultaneously, we are seeking for a way to break away from tradition metal cases and make a new model of the PC case structurally.
