Module 2 Reflection
Due on MON. NOV. 15 th
Write a reflection on Module 2 that is at least 250 words. Please include the word count on the top of the page. The reflection should be typed in Times New Roman 12 point font and double spaced.Â
Questions to Consider:Â
Metacognition is what we call reflection: an awareness of our learning process—both how and what we learn.
Transfer: Is the concept of how we can transfer this knowledge/ awareness/ learning into other aspects of our lives. For example, how can we use this learning in other classes (math classes, architecture classes, fashion classes) or in the world outside of City Tech (our careers, etc).Â
We have talked a lot about the research and inquiry process. We have discussed the importance of letting questions guide our research and using sources in different genres to help us better understand our topics. Now, it is time for us to reflect on this learning!Â
A Module Reflection asks you to reflect or look back at the Module and think deeply about the readings, the major project, and the short writing assignments you completed.Â
First, let’s think about what each of these mentor authors taught us:

As a writer I learned about myself that I can get real focused and involved in writing when I receive focus questions that guide me into writing more. The questions help as a guide for me to start writing and write in good amounts and good quality. When I was writing the rhetorical analysis I noticed that If I get into writing the same kind of writing I began to find it easier to write. After the second rhetorical analysis I found myself knowing what the questions wanted me to answer and writing it with ease. Those questions from the rhetorical analysis made me a better reader because it got me thinking deeper about the article and the information it was providing. I believe that I found the Reflective Annotated Bibliography the hardest out of all of the different writing assignments. I found it the hardest because it made me write in a way I haven’t before. It required me to write more about the author and the sources I had gathered for my research which was new to me as a writer. The rhetorical analysis was also the most successful writing assignment I had since it required me to put in more effort compared to the other writing assignments. The reading that inspired me was “Is Google Making Us Stupid” by Nicholas Carr beacuse it made me realize how much we depend on google for things like knowing where we are going or where we are at. I realized that we depend on google a lot and so we tend to search up small things that I believe we can figure out if we think and try harder. I enjoyed the experience of this because I got to research a topic I liked learning about and in the process I acquired the new skill of knowing how to find a source that is reliable. I also learned the skill of citing in MLA format my sources which can be applied both outside of CityTech and inside Citytech because I might use it again in another essay.
