Blog Post 5 – First Project Die-Cut ” Gold Award “

During my internship at Copycats, I learned a lot about the printing industry, marketing, and how businesses use creative designs to promote their services. As an intern, I did not have to do clerical duties like answering phones or filing paperwork. My work mainly focused on creating different concepts for die-cut projects and sometimes designing ideas for social media posts. Most of my tasks were related to creativity and design, which connected well with my interests and skills.

A typical day at my internship involved working on creative projects, coming up with new design ideas, and getting feedback from my supervisor. I learned how companies use design to attract customers and advertise special printing services.

One project I worked on was a “Gold Award” die-cut concept. The idea was to create a golden trophy design that could help promote the company’s exclusive gold reflective print service. For the project, I had to include a main slogan related to gold, a mini caption underneath it, the company logo on the sash of the trophy, and a flipped version of the design so customer information could be added to the back. This project taught me how businesses combine creativity with marketing to make products more appealing to customers.

Through this internship, I learned that the printing industry is not only about creating products but also about finding creative ways to advertise services and stand out from competitors. I also improved my design skills, learned how to take feedback professionally, and gained experience working in a real business environment.
