This semester, I am working for Copycats, a private printing company located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The company was founded in 1984 and has been providing printing, graphic design, display, and mailing services for over 40 years!
Copycats mainly works with businesses, nonprofit organizations, and other professional clients that need high-quality printing and marketing materials. The company creates products such as brochures, banners, business cards, posters, trade show displays, and custom die-cut prints. The company is considered a small-to-medium-sized business with a production team, account managers, and company leadership including the CEO and COO.
During my internship, I worked in the production department, mainly focusing on die-cut concepts and social media design projects. My role involved creating creative designs that helped promote the company’s printing services and branding.
One recent article I found about the company was an interview with CEO Ruth Starer called “Her Imprint: Ruth Starer on Overcoming Challenges and Gender Bias in Business.” In the interview, Ruth talked about how she helped grow Copycats from a small business into a successful printing company. She also discussed challenges the company faced over the years, including 9/11, business growth, and gender bias in the workplace. (Printing Impressions)
Another recent update about the company explained how Copycats continues to provide fast and reliable printing services for businesses in New York City while focusing on customer service and creative printing solutions. The company is known for helping businesses with quick turnaround projects and custom printing needs.
