Weekly Writing Assignment, Week 9

For this week’s Weekly Writing Assignment, I would like you to brainstorm some possible scientific or technical problems that you can discuss with your team. Specifically, I would like you to focus on scientific or technical problems related to your major and career goals. Perhaps it will involve problems relating to computing hardware or software, networking, electrical engineering challenges, applications of computing and networking to other real world problems (such as, smart power grids, driverless cars, Bitcoin energy use, etc.). There are many, many problems out there for you to think about, discuss, and choose among for your team’s project.

So, the Weekly Writing Assignment is to write at least 250-words in a memo format addressed to Prof. Ellis with the subject, “Team Project Brainstorming,” and discussing three possible technical or scientific problems relating in some way to your major and career goals. For each problem, clearly state what the problem is, who or what industry it affects, and some of your own thoughts about how the problem might be solvable. After you’ve written this memo, copy-and-paste it into a comment on this blog post AND circulate it via email (reply all) to the email that I will send to each team for peer review (on the Instruction Manual project).

    Problem:
Self-Driving Car- Driving requires many complex social interactions, which robots still find very difficult. A cyclist, for example, is signaling a turn or lane change in front of a self-driving vehicle. However, AI may be unaware of this and continue at a constant pace rather than slowing down.

Who or what industry it affects:
It has an effect on the general public as well as the AI industry.

How the problem might be solvable:
Teach AI about their surroundings and why the people they encounter on the road act the way they do. That’s I believe one way to solve this problem.

    Problem:
Bitcoin is not a viable currency – Transactional Problems are one of the big concerns. A currency’s primary purpose is to serve as a store of value and a medium of exchange. Bitcoin is a medium of exchange, but it is not a reliable store of value. Because it is too volatile and is currently not backed by any government as of now. The only reason why people would even consider buying bitcoin is that they believe they can sell it at a higher price in the future.

Who or what industry it affects:
    It affects General Public.

How the problem might be solvable:
Bitcoin must be less volatile in order to be used as a digital currency.

    Problem:
Windows are soon discontinuing their operating system due to the out due of the Apple Mac operating system. The Apple operating system are taking over and it’s making it hard for the Windows servers to catch up with it and it’s causing a lot of IT operational to go out.
Who or what industry it affects:
It has an affect on the whole Windows industry? This has been in talks and if it ever goes into effect, people who’s been using and been comfortable with the Windows operating system.
How the problem might be solvable:
It could solvable if Windows updates to the point, it’s actually comparable to Mac’s operating system.
    Problem:
AI is taking a toll on job positions in factories. Robots has overtaken the job of men and less has become unemployed because of this matter because there’s no need for a human to operate the machinery.
Who or what industry it affects:
It affects General Public when it comes to employment because then the competitiveness of another job will be heighten with the many people wanted to get that job.
How the problem might be solvable:
How I think it could be solved is if jobs provide extra sanitary employee support to supervisor the machinery or expand into making more units.

Here is my major problems related to the technology filed

    1. Employee Productivity Measurement
A lot of companies switched to remotely which it means work from home , many realized that they lacked an efficient way to measure employee productivity its very difficult to track the employee while they are working from home the companies must find way to be able to track them such as opening camera during their work hours.
2 Remote Internet Speed and Equipment
With a sudden shift to most employees working remotely, corporations need to boost at home internet speed and capacity for employees that didn’t previously have the requirements to produce work adequately. Companies must improve that .

    3. Data Privacy
One of the biggest issues in the world especially Facebook ,google …. Since you login they save your data, even your research and personal information. the body can know everything about you easily for example if you wanted to know anything about anybody just google first and last name you will find everything about this person … where he lives , phone number ,even criminal record

    4- Mobile Security
The same thing as data privacy mobile security is a big issue because we rely so much on mobile internet the whole day every where people over the phones we are addicted to it is very dangerous . We need to be more aware of how these networks can be compromised and how to protect them.

Topic: Migrating from onsite datacenter to cloud solutions
Problem: The operating costs of running and maintaining an onsite datacenter is not cost effective. Costs such as electricity, cooling, alarms, security, rent, maintenance and licensing fees.

Solution: Migrate the on-site datacenter to the cloud using either Amazon Web Service (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure. This would solve the issue of large upfront hardware costs in a data center. Since the benefit of the cloud is only pay for what you use on a pay by the minute model.

    Topic: IT Skills Gap
Problem: According to statistics, 67% of employer’s issues finding the right IT candidate with the right IT skills. This is due the colleges not giving students the right certification pathway or knowledge. Or jobs not providing training or certification to advance the current IT generation.

Solution: Colleges and jobs should provide job specific training and certification to the candidates so they will be caught up with technology and skills needed for the job.

Purchases square measure tracked via IoT devices like cameras and sensors, and payments square measure processed digitally after you rehearse the door. Their square measures tons of thousands of barriers everywhere the planet and there’s already a barista automaton coming up. Now, some folks might like their low simply excellent and that they do not trust anyone else aside from their favorite barista. However, most people simply need to grab a good cup of low, that a larva will simply do consistently. Moreover, these barista robots are literally an enormous network of robots that may acknowledge totally different folks and brew them low simply however they love it notwithstanding wherever they’re, that is incredibly convenient. consider these barista robots having just one brain, a hive mind, with many bodies all over the planet.
