Wendy Richmond’s current art is about health and body. She deals in how the body can both be protective and self destructing. She was made lead on an art festival in Brooklyn and was tasked to create a panel. She used her own subject as the topic of this panel, but used four experts from different professions with very different perspectives: a tattoo artist, a scientist, fashion designer, and a photographer. The different forms of protection that came up ranged from physical to mental to psychological. She plans on using these new perspectives in her future artwork.

In Joe Keohane’s article, titled “What News-Writing Bots Mean for the Future of Journalism,” he mentions an AI system known as Heliograf. Created by The Washington Post just last year, this AI system is used to generate news articles. Some examples of the articles the system has published include the 2016 Olympics and the Republican party retaining control over the House. To utilize Heliograf, editors give it different phrases and then connecting Heliograf to any source of well organized data to create narrative templates. With Heliograf, there is hope that it can do more with more advancements on AI technology.

In his article “Justice at Risk” Erwin Chemerinsky makes a strong case that the future looks rather bleak for the federal judiciary. The focus of the article is on the upcoming nomination of the ninth Justice for the Supreme Court, and the high possibility of President Trump’s nominee to establish a right-wing majority that could potentially be damaging for decades to come. The author of the article takes a close look at important issues at hand including guns, executive power, and campaign finance amongst others by providing a realistic outcome with a right-wing replacement for the deceased Antonin Scalia.

Haley Sweetland Edwards makes a compelling point in how a massive reform is necessary to the way student loans services are provided nowadays in her article titled, “Retirees Shoulder A Bigger Share Of Student Debt.” In the last decade, the number of Americans that are of age 60 or above with a student loan quadrupled from 700,000 to 2.8 million. The accentuation leans to the demand of less blue collar workers that increases the number of people in their 40s and 50s looking to learn a new skill. The issue becomes repayment since older people have more bills.

    Answers From a Train Operator
By The New York Times June 2, 2010 4:59 pm

I believe that strategy of the article entitled “Answers From a Train Operator” was to present answers to questions people would want to ask a Train Operator in a format of question first, followed by the answers to those questions. The person responding to these questions is named Dennis H. Boyd. He drives the Lexington Avenue line number 4 train. I found it interesting that Train Operator Dennis H. Boyd mentions that he would have to stop the train earlier in the rain or snow because of friction between the metal tracks and metal wheels of the train.

These mentors help women stay in the engineering field by offering them specifics and opportunities to remain in their respective fields. It is advantageous to form alliances with peer mentors and senior mentors.

The article discusses the necessity of changing such laws and recognizing rights to reproductive health as fundamental human rights. In several countries, America included, there exists a continual opposition against allowing women access to abortions, and related reproductive health care. The laws in place result in criminalization, maternity deaths, and self-induced abortions.

The article “4 New Ways to Store Renewable Energy With Water” by Andrew Silver, writer with IEEE Spectrum, illustrates a few ideas on the ways we are dealing with the consumption of energy, with something as common as water. An idea circulating is a piloted mini-submarine that sits at the bottom of the ocean. It generates electricity as water is taken into containers and released creating a kind of synergy, it’s named The Concrete Bunker. With a successful test run of four-weeks it’s in the process of expanding to dive deeper into places such as Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean.
