March 2nd: Today was my first day of working with Succarra Media Group. SMG is located on 110 e. 25th st. new york.  SMG offices are in a co-op office. The co-op is called Neue House.  When I first walked in I was greeted by the building receptionist. I had to sign in and wait for my supervisor to come down. I was a little nervous and the place was a bit intimidating. It was a high-end place. I felt I was out of place. I wasn’t comfortable. As I was looking around the lobby someone has called my name. It was a woman named Brittani. As I picked up my bag to follow her upstairs, she asked if I had a laptop. I said no. Turns out that the computer that will be working on was down. Her boss failed to tell her that. Also, she said that her boss thought I was coming in the next week. Which in the email said March 2nd. So she said to come in next week.

Great. Traveled all this way to travel back home. At that time I was saving up for a laptop. I decided to just go ahead and get a laptop on that day. Something told that my boss computer will still be down by the next week. So I  went straight to Micro Center in Brooklyn and got a laptop. Went home and downloaded all the programs I needed and waited for next week.

March 9th: It was my official first day of being a design intern. Walked in the lobby and waited in the little waiting are and was told that my boss was sitting right behind me working. His name is Justin Mills and he’s the creative director. Justin told me all the things that I’ll be doing, what program he mainly works. I assisted all creative material when needed. So I met my boss and I also met the P.A intern Jenni. For 7 hours straight on my first day, I  was learning how to create sales pitches for clients.

March 10: Second day doing the same thing for about 3 hours. Then I  was asked if I was any good in photoshopping. He needed an object in a photo to be deleted. Easy clone stamp done with I seconds. Then the next task was to change the sizing and resolution of their client Elexic images. Which was fine. Until he sent me the file and I had about 200 photos in it. So for the rest of the day, I was doing that. In about 2 hours before I leave for the day. Turns out that those 200 plus photos were the wrong photos. All that for nothing. That’s when I got the correct photos and did the same thing as fast as I could so Justin could send it out to the clients.

All in all, i enjoyed my first week. I finally felt at ease that I had an internship. I felt great got a new job and a new computer. The only downside to this would probably have to be me sitting fo almost 7 to 8 hours being on the computer.
