
One thing I learned about the organization is how they communicate its message to the public. I’ve realized they use social media platforms such as instagram and LinkedIn to tell stories through posts.
The organization uses photos and captions to bring attention to the community. This becomes an opportunity for them to share everyone about their mission which is advocating for social justice through storytelling.
For example, carousel posts function as a way to tell stories that break down a social issue step-by step. I did a few carousel posts for some of the projects because they needed to tell a story for people to understand better what we were trying to communicate. Also, it is a simple way to break down information in various slides, so it becomes storytelling.
Overall, I learned that it’s not only about creating something that looks good visually, but about being thoughtful. Post should show impact and create empathy, so the audience connects and they would want to be part of the change. This made me realize of the importance of shaping a narrative within a social media post and how much positive impact can have if made correctly.
