I have decided to make my final draft into a comic strip because I want the idea of self care to be enjoyable, encouraging, and engaging. I am specifically targeting college students who may be struggling with mental health. I believe college students may be the best choice because college is known to be stressful for many students. Even high school students who may be struggling with deep mental health issues. My purpose is to remind those that even through hard times, self care is always important and necessary. This has been a great experience to research and write about honestly. As a college student myself, I can say stress does get in the way and often leads many of us to feel unmotivated and unworthy. However, the topic of self care is a reminder that we should always take care of ourselves and do the things that we enjoy to keep our well being content. I hope those who do view my comic strips will love it and use them as a guidance to pamper themselves, find hobbies, etc.

For unit 3, the audience I’d like to target is young children to elders. Why is that? I know that there are some young children out there reaching puberty and start to go through changes that starts to affect how they see themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Whereas for teenagers, a lot tend to go through anxiety and depression, and for adults to elders, they should know how important it is to practice doing self-care and loving themselves. The specific target of my audience is high school and college students. I feel like doing comic strips would be entertaining and encouraging as well. Self-care is for people of all ages and everyone should feel encouraged to take care of themselves.
My main point hasn’t changed from unit 2. I still believe the importance of the self-care and understanding how necessary it is in our daily lives. What only changed is the way I will use it to target people which is most likely doing a comic strip. The resources I’d need to make a self-care comic strip is seeing what kind and how it can be encouraging.
I’m not so completely sure but I am working on some ideas for the comic strip and still collecting some more ideas. What I do know is that I will be enjoying doing more research for this unit.
It’s important to have a multimodal component in writing classes since it allows you to express creativity. It also allows for you to gain more comprehension and be more open-minded when looking for ways to write and express ideas. To me, multimodality means many different ways to communicate. It’s having more than one component of writing. My specific plans for Unit 3 would be to write a poem or do comic strips. I’m not fully sure but I do want to have some art expressed in it as well where it makes it amusing for my target audience to read.
