STUDYING AND MAJORS

ALLIED HEALTH:

Allied health majors can include nursing, radiology and dental hygiene. Many students go for a science health related major and most of the time struggle when it comes to studying.Ā  Studying for any kind of major is not easy because there are alot of readings tha include terms to be memorized. The part of memorizing is not easy for students so they neeed an easy guide to study much better.

Some main points are:

* To re-write, re-write, re-writeĀ the notes after class.

* To create menominics in order to know the term.

* To not just read, but understand what they are reading.

*Try talking aloud and asking yourself questions which you can answer correct or fix the wrong answer.

 

 

COMPUTER SCIENCE:
A computer science major focuses on computers, computing problems and solutions, and the design of computer systems and user interfaces from a scientific perspective. At City Tech we have an associateā€™s degrees in computer science. Aside from programming classes CS major requires many math classes. Classes such as Linear Algebra, Calculus up to 3 (multivariable), Probability and Statistic, and Discrete Mathematics are all required for majority if not all of CS major. At City Tech we have an associateā€™s degrees in computer science.

Some tips in programming classes:
ā€¢ Learn by doing, follow what the teacher do as he/she is doing it on the smart board
ā€¢ Get a good book other than the one given by the teacher; You can ā€œeasilyā€ find a variety of free books
in programming forums or on Google
ā€¢ Join an online community for programmers such as http://www.cplusplus.com/forum,
where you can go and find tips and help from experts across the world

MATHEMATICS:

* Donā€™t just read the problem, DO IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN until you understand it.
*Always carry a calculator because you will need it.
*Remember what FORMULAS you want to use for any kind of problem.

*Always use a pencil because in math many students tends to do several mistakes
