My decision to pursue a carrer in dental hygiene comes from both my passion for patient care and professional background as a dentist in Mexico. During my time practicing dentistry, I gained valued experience treating patients with a wide range of oral health needs. However, I developed a deeper appreciation for preventive care and patient education, especially in helping individuals understand how their daily habits impact their oral and overall heath. This motivated me to continue my journey in New York as a dental hygiene student, where I can focus more closely on prevention and long-term patient care.
Working as a dental assistant while completing my studies has further strengthened my clinical skills and reinforced the importance of compassion, communication and patience when treating patient. I have learned how to adapt to different needs, especially those who may feel anxious or need extra support. I have managed patients with various medical conditions, which has enhanced my ability to provide individualized, evidence-base care. My goal is to use take control on their oral health and provide overall quality of lie.
