Arestin Placement and Evaluation Log:

When a patient has periodontal (gum) disease, scaling and root planning is required to deeply clean bacteria away from below the gum line. The product Arestin are microspheres of the antibiotic minocycline hydrochloride that is released over time, killing the bacteria so the gingiva (gums) can heal better that with just performing scaling/root planning treatment alone.

After placement, evaluation was done within 4-10 weeks. A 20% – 50% change in pocket depth was observed!
