This is from the latest announcement on BB, April 26th:

    ENT 3290 Students,

Greetings from Vegas, where I’m attending two conventions!

I just e-mailed your Project I grade to your City Tech e-mail address. Please check it.

As a reminder, you need to prepare for Quiz 2 for this Friday.

    See you soon.

I just reviewed the footage and I’m actually really impressed with what we produced given us not really being prepped in the pre-production department….

We could have cut some takes as there is extra, and we could have also been more smooth in the movement of the jib but I feel like our lighting shots were executed well and I really enjoy watching the black and white door closing scenes.

Until the end of Sunday, April 23rd, you can still add more comments before I finalize your Project I grade. Be happy about what you accomplished, and be critical if you wish to improve for the future!

I saw this at the top of this thread: “7 thoughts on “Project I Group B”

Then, I realized that in this group so far, Christian posted once, Nick twice, and I wrote something quickly four times…

I’m very concerned about this group. Do you wish to pass the course???…????…?????

Im thinking maybe we could make a conversation across the table lighting each subject across from each other. there could be some props, like they are working or something. could be an intense game of cards??

Ok so what we briefly discussed in class was the setting up of each type of lighting in a different spot of the room. So we use tape to mark where a person would stand and the lights would already be set up so the person just stays in position to achieve the desired lighting effect. Then we go to position to position using the jib, and we can even get one person in split lighting and the other in rembrandt if we line it up well.

It is a good start. However, you need to modify the idea and develop it more in detail. First of all, the two groups will share the room, and so let’s not assume that your group can use the entire space on your own unless the other group decides to leave the studio while you do the lighting part and the other group does the jib part. That brings up another challenge: You most likely can’t use the jib when you do the lighting part. In addition, it is so easy to set up the lighting and one person walks in the shot. Maybe you can add another person in the frame, and think of some sort of a drama in each shot? Have fun with this project!

In general, after a student posts some ideas, if no one else posts anything, there is no reason to wait around. It is a good opportunity to be active and score high individually in the pre-production phase (the online discussion) as well as in the project in general.
