A quote poster reflected on Sylvia Harris and her work. For this poster, I used the rule of thirds to create hierarchy and emphasize the quote message. I used a 5×5 grid to align the quote and use alignment on the quote.

For this project, I used Photoshop to create a GIF using Sylvia Harris’ quote. Create a typographic Instagram-sized gif: 1080 px wide, 1350 high Gif and use a sequence of frames to create motion effects.

In the letterform study, I used the letter G to avoid geometrical shapes within the letters and give a symmetrical shape, and used figure figure-ground concept with the black and white shapes of the letter. Focus on both the solid part (form) and the negative space (counter-form) of the letter. And cropped or manipulated the letterform so that only a subtle hint of its original identity remains. To aim to achieve an equal balance of black (form) and white (counter-form) within a square composition.

Combine an Icon with a letter form to focus on figure-ground and balance. Combine images to create a figure-ground relationship.
