I wanted to use a good variety of shapes and colors for this piece, I liked how lighter pastel colors looked when made 3D. I was surprised with how many shapes/3d objects you can make with the bevel and extrude tool. I hardly used it before this project and had fun experimenting with it. This was also my first time using the revolve tool, which was also interesting.
I’m glad you enjoyed the experimentation. With digital tools, the idea of having a new “tool” to play with I think makes us more aware that we really are doing something we’ve never been able to do before. That’s so valuable.
Going back to observation drawing from your image will bring these discoveries back into your personal drawing toolbox as well.
