I learned many skills and techniques that have prepared me for internship placement and the human service field. I feel three of the most important ones are how to complete a process recording, group process class, and counseling methods class. I feel these classes and practice are the most important since through out my internship I am constantly referencing them in order to complete my work and deal with clients.
I feel me learning how to complete a process recording was important since through out my internship I reference this practice. Learning how to do the process recording has helped me understand how to do a progress notes and other written work with clients.
I feel the group process class has helped me a lot with my internship. I was expected to construct a real group with a topic and use the classmates as group members. Through out my internships I was asked to conduct multiple groups, I feel this class has helped me a lot since it prepared me to run groups.
As a result of my counseling method class, I learned skills and tips that has assist me with counseling clients. Although I seemed simple, I learned micro and macro skills that assist me in counseling clients more effectively.
