About Me

Hello! My name is Daniela Diaz, and I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I moved to New York in June 2008. Since my teenage years, I’ve had the passion in my heart to reach out to those whose lives need restoration and empowerment or are being marginalized because they are part of a vulnerable population within society. Now as an adult and being an immigrant myself, my desire is to reach out to the immigrants and work with homeless families. Seeing the high statistics of homelessness in NYC and how homeless individuals are exposing their lives to diseases because of extreme cold or bacteria on the streets, it really compels me to do something for these human beings.  I also have the love for teaching children with special needs and ESL students. I’m currently enrolled in the Human Service Major at New York City College of Technology, and I am graduating in January 2016.
