Your City Tech writing tutor cannot tell you “This is an A paper” or “You’re going to get a B on this.” Instead, we work with you to develop the skills to grow as a writer, and strengthen your assignment.
Here are five ways to make the most of your appointment with a writing tutor.
- Bring the assignment prompt so we know what your instructor is asking for. (If your session is online, upload these files in advance.) Include the:
- Assignment prompt
- Instructor-provided templates or models
- If your assignment is listed on Brightspace, be prepared to share your screen with your tutor.
- Bring your draft, notes, or outline. (If your session is online, upload these files in advance.)
- List your concerns: Write down your top three concerns about this assignment.
- Set a goal: Write down what you would like to accomplish during the session.
- Arrive prepared:
- Make sure your computer microphone and video are working.
- Have your materials ready to take notes.
- Be on time! Log in to your account a few minutes before your appointment, click on your appointment, and you’ll find the video conference link to join the session there!
