We invite you to tell a story about how you are preparing to be a City Tech student. Research has shown that first-semester students often worry about their transition to college, yet eventually they become comfortable and find a community of people with whom they are close and feel they belong. Share your own story of preparing to be a college student. ** This reflection is inspired by the “Our Stories” project
I am not very prepared. I have been taking it very slow and I hope I will haven’t everything done. Recently I have been doing what people have told me to do.
Even if you are not prepared right now you eventually will be. Not every one is prepared immediately some people take time to develop and adapt but that is when you learn the most about life. Hopefully you do well your first year and good luck.
I’m preparing to be a college student by having confidence. Also, plans outside and inside of college on how I’m going to manage around my classes and work. I’m trying my best to learn how to actually study and not just be there or write random things. Try my best not to be nervous and be straight up and get through the weeks. Also, I’m preparing to not over stress myself not be mad I don’t understand a subject but instead of being mad I’m going to study and do my research.
That sounds great. Having the confidence to do things especially like going out to the professor and asking for help can really benefit you. I knew someone who got his grade changed from a C to a B because he had the confidence to go up and talk to the professor. It is good not to stress about work and hopefully your first year you do not stress as much. I wish you luck and hopefully you do well.
My transition happened so quickly from high school to college, and mostly I had to transition mentally. Changing my mindset from a high schooler to a college student. I am a easily adapting person so it is easy for me to become comfortable in spaces I am enjoying myself in.
That happened to me as well. Going from one mindset to another hit like a truck and it really sticks if you are not ready. Hopefully we were able to help and hopefully you do adapt to the college life easily. I wish you the best of luck and hope your classes are not to extreme.
To prepare for college I was advised by a professor in dental hygiene to advise me on the classes I should register for the next semester. I looked at all the pre-requisites and made sure my classes look good for my major.
Asking someone to advice you is always a great idea because some people know whats best for us when are options are limitless. Hopefully next semester your classes allow you to go by without issue and I wish you luck on the road ahead.
Setting goals can help you to achieve personal growth in life goals can also improve your focus on your work or what you want to do in your life you have to set a timetable if you really want to achieve something big in your life
Setting goals is what is keeping me going on with my major and life honestly. There are going to be times where the time does not feel right but if you want to reach your goal you have to keep your head up and keep pushing through. Hopefully you set a goal that can set you on a path like that. I wish you luck on your journey in college and hope you do well.
Been Prepared is always me but city tech gives me the vibe of a new beginning and moving into something big but sure I will make it work
A new beginning is sometimes the best beginning in my opinion. To start a new brings many opportunity and opens many and new doors that are available to you, you just have to find them but that is only the beginning. I hope your college experience is nothing but the best and I wish you well on your time in college.
Preparing to be a City Tech student has been both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking for me. Coming from a different country and culture, I’ve had to adjust to a new environment, which hasn’t always been easy. One of the biggest steps I’ve taken is getting familiar with the campus and the resources available to students. I’ve been attending orientations, reading up on my major, and reaching out to my advisor for guidance.
I’m also focusing on building good habits, like managing my time well and staying organized, which I know will be crucial for success. Since I didn’t have many opportunities to join clubs or activities back in high school, I’m looking forward to getting involved in different clubs at City Tech. I believe this will help me meet new people, make friends, and find a community where I feel like I belong.
Though I sometimes worry about the transition, I’m confident that with time, I’ll get more comfortable and truly feel at home at City Tech. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me and how I’ll grow as both a student and a person.
You should feel confident in yourself. You did more then most students would do in a year. Hopefully you join the right club and meet the right people here. Hopefully the college experience is good for you and hopefully you enjoy your experience here. I wish the best for you and good luck.
I have prepared my life to transition to highschool from college by having more confidence on myself. Making new friends or allies can make my life easy and I can make their life easier, sharing our experiences or having fun when able. I’m here for whoever needs help and if you need help my Instagram is in my bio.
Side note: Npc David the best mentor( but worst guide tour)
You have a lot of confidence and that will take you a long way. Hopefully you make some good friends here and hopefully you get a good college experience here. I wish the best for you and hopefully you do well here.
I am preparing for being a college student by looking at my school email and by using resources like the star advisement center.
Checking your school email constantly is the best way to stay on top of everything and in my opinion is doing more then most students. You might not need the resources after a while but if you do hopefully you remember where things are. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully your first classes go smoothly.
I don’t really prepare for college because I think I’m already prepared enough. I still attend some activities like 101 and others.
If you think you’ve already prepared enough that is perfect. Most people do not think they have done enough so they stress about it but in reality it is all a learning curve. Hopefully you are well prepared for your classes and good luck on your college experience.
I am slowly preparing myself mentally. This workshop did help me a lot. Although I am scared for this new transition, I will find ways to keep a positive mindset. I’m going
All transitioning is scary especially when entering a new environment. That is the best part though because you never know where you end up and most of the times it is in a better spot then you could have imagined. I hope the new transition is welcoming to you and I hope you keep a positive mind set and I wish you well on your college experience.
I have been preparing to be a college student by attending to city tech workshop and doing a lot of things to help me become successful in college while I pursue my major. I have setup multiple plans with a lot of goals in order to become successful.
