4. The movie shown in class of photographer Sebastiao Salgado was by far my favorite of the term. He inspired me in many ways after being introduced to his works and grew an appreciation for his story. I believe that he used the camera as a both a mirror and window view, but more so that of a window view. I feel as though his precise captures gave us not only a sense of a moment in time, yet of what life was like during those specific moments, what was transpiring through the emotions of the people and the conditions in which they reside. His images gave a sense of story telling, and spoke of history and life unaccustomed to us naturally. One photography that truly resonated with me was that of the indigenous tribe, where one native was climbing a vine, through his use of decisive motion. To see from the videos point of view exactly how he captured that image resonated with me.
