Hello Students!

We WILL meet tomorrow (Th Oct 30)! Before that class, please email me your assignment in place of Tuesday’s class (questions on ch. 10, see announcement below and on Brightspace) which counts as homework AND your attendance in Tuesday’s class.

Each of you should have received an email at your City Tech address with your Westlaw “registration key,” which is a loooong bunch of letters and numbers. Please click the “Register” link in that email to activate your Westlaw account. Please bring the “registration key” and any other sign-on information you may have (username, password, etc.). to class tomorrow. We’ll get to know Westlaw together!

Also, just a reminder that the Supreme Court Law Library assignment (worksheet) is due by the end of tomorrow (Th Oct 30).

Just a reminder, today (Th Oct 23), we will NOT meet in N622A again — instead, those of you who did NOT attend our trip to the Kings County Supreme Court Law Library on Tuesday will take that trip today! Please meet at the entrance to the Namm building (300 Jay St) at 2:15pm SHARP! If you’d like to leave any belongings in my office (N622) which I can lock, please come by about 2pm to drop them off. (At the court house, you’ll need to put your bags through the scanner.)

Those of you who attended the trip Tuesday do NOT need to come to class today! Enjoy your afternoon, and weekend!

Just a reminder, today (Tu Oct 21) and Thursday Oct 22, we will NOT meet in N622A, instead we will take TRIPS to visit the Kings County Supreme Court Law Library! About 1/2 of you will attend each day. Please meet at the entrance to the Namm building (300 Jay St) at 2:15pm SHARP! If you want to leave any belongings in my office in N622, which I can lock, please come by about 2pm. (At the court house, you’ll need to put your bags through the scanner.)

Here’s the schedule based on what folks told me in class last Thursday — if you prefer to attend the “other” day (Tu or Th) please let me know or just show up that day at the Namm entrance at 2:15pm. If your name isn’t on the list (probably because you didn’t attend class Thursday) please let me know which day you would like to attend!

Great work in class today, with particularly challenging material! Just a reminder, this Thursday Oct 9, you’ll take the Midterm Exam in class. Here are some study suggestions, and here is the answer key to quiz #2 which will also be helpful to review. (The key to quiz #1 is posted in the “class notes & materials” page.) Study hard, arrive on time, bring your court charts & maps and your Bluebook, something to write with, and your big, smart BRAINS!
