This year’s event will explore two timely and important themes:
- The Expansion of Federal Power: How has the federal government historically expanded into areas once left to the states? And what are the implications of the most recent federal expansions, including into policing itself, for democracy and accountability?
- Individual Rights and Citizenship: What do contemporary interpretations of the Constitution mean for fundamental rights, including the future of birthright citizenship?
