Who I am

My name is Hasani Wright, I major in Law and paralegal studies. I chose to major in this because I love law and the justice system, and have always been curious about what occurs internally. I also believe there needs to be more colored representation working in law. I feel as though one thing you should know about me is that i am deeply involved in the performing arts. I did 7 years of theater and 4 years of musical theater (I also know how to draw). These interests have helped me gain better appreciation for the Arts and the messages that they portray.

You guys are about to find me very weird but I have a couple pets. Mainly reptiles and amphibians which isn’t the weirdest thing but not exactly popular lol. I got to say my favorite pet is my gecko Yamori, named after a Tokyo ghoul character. Oh yeah i like anime also.

Who I Am,

Hello, my name is Zainab Jahangir and I am in the Law and Paralegal Studies Program due to interest on how corrupt the criminal justice is in the United States and understanding concepts that are handful at times for a lawyer to defend their client and using tactics to defeat the opposing counsel. After undergraduate school I hope to go to law school and further my education on becoming a lawyer. Often times I am wary on criminal justice law or corporate law but it seems to early to decide now, so I will wait when the future becomes apparent to me. A course relating to law that I have taken was in high school that was forensic science (which is my favorite science subject) and a college now class: political science which taught me the fundamentals of criminal justice law. Music is a huge part of my life as though I listen to it everyday. I am open to any genre of music but definitely K-POP is what I mostly listen too. I love BTS, and I have gotten into their music when I was 13. I love rhythm games like Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight. Rhythm games are paced in a way where everything is happening at that moment where every note needs to be hit at that time for the song to keep going. Anime has been a big part of my life because I started watching it as a child and still watch it to this day! This is my introduction, it is nice to meet you too.

Who I am

I am Mian Hamza. I am a freshman in City tech. My major is Law and Paralegal Studies. I chose this major because I love Law and most likely it’s related to History and my history is really good. In my free time I like to listen to songs and to play squash in the park.

I live with my dad in the Bronx. Most of the time I cook food at home. Rather then that I am mostly alone.

Who I Am!

I am Kerin Coughlin, the instructor of these courses. I am in the Law and Paralegal Studies program because it’s my job! 🙂 I chose it as my job because I love law, and I love teaching. Many moons ago, I was a junior high school Social Studies teacher, then I became a lawyer, then I started teaching law part time while I was practicing law full time, and guess what? I realized I liked my part-time job better than my full-time job. So I switched it up, and thankfully I found this great position at City Tech. I’ve been teaching here for six years now.

Something I want you to know about me is that I love my cats. They’re brothers, and they’re both named Darryl which makes my life easier. You’ll hear me talk about them a lot, and I’ll probably bore you with pictures of them. Here’s one that’s a few years old but they still pretty much look the same, except fatter:

I look forward to working with you and getting to know you all this semester, in these crazy circumstances!

Cheers,

Prof. C.

Who I Am!

Hello everyone, my name is Tevin!

Throughout my life, I was always conflicted with myself about what I wanted to do. I’ve always mentioned that I wanted to get involved in a career that allowed me to exercise my ability to help others. Though, I wasn’t sure about what I wanted to do, even as college began. With that, I enrolled myself into Law & Paralegal Studies as my choice when getting into City Tech. However, I wanted to ensure it’s what I really wanted to do, so I switched to Liberal Arts in Sciences so I can give myself time to explore and truly observe those around me and get involved in certain classes as well.

After a while of exploring Liberal Arts in Sciences and taking a variety of different classes, I’ve made the decision to switch back to Law because it is one of few careers I see myself flourishing in and wanted to give it a shot to see if it is truly my calling. I do hope in the future to serve in a position of authority where I am able to put forward positive influences, and changes as well due to the current state of the world. Nevertheless, this is why I am here, and this is why I am taking Law!

Regarding me as an individual, I am very kind and a great listener. I am one of those people that gives absolutely great advice (I’d like to pride myself in saying), but sometimes, cannot take my own advice (hopefully some of us can relate, haha). Overall, though I do have faults like every other human being, I do like when I am approached by others and informed about faults I do have so I can address them and become more informed for the future and a better person in general.

As for my classmates, we’ll get through this class, among others, together. Also, if you ever need someone to talk to away from your usual circle, relate to, or just want someone around that won’t judge you, feel free to add me on Snapchat @imtevinokay.
