The source I chose to use for my review is a documentary titled “Killing for Love”. The movie was released in 2016. Im using this as my source because it is based on a double murder that took place in 1985. So I think it’ll fit in perfect with the law theme.

“Law in Culture” Review
I am choosing to do my review on Season 2 of the podcast In the Dark. The investigative podcast, released throughout 2018, is hosted by Madeleine Baran and produced by APM Reports. I chose this podcast because I listened to the first season a few months ago and have been meaning to give the second season a go! The second season is about the case of Curtis Flowers, a man who “was tried six times for the same crime” (from the podcast description). The case ended up being a 21+ year process of appeals and new trials revolving around a 1996 shooting in a furniture store that resulted in multiple deaths. The whole time, Flowers was in jail on death row. It is law-themed because not only does it involve a murder case (against the law obviously), but it goes into detail about the trials and the multiple appeals. The podcast is 18 episodes and I hope to get through most of it before the end of the semester!
My source
Is a show called “Better Call Saul” it’s a Netflix show that I’ve been watching for the past two weeks, I’m on the second season. The show is based on a lawyer that constantly breaks the law in order to benefit himself and in order to attain and win cases. It’s so funny and full of drama I think it’s a good source because the main character is a lawyer.
Law in Culture Source
The Source that I pick is a TV show called Scandal. It is Law related because it is about a group of paralegals trying to help the main Lawyer which is named Olivia Pope. According to IMDB, “A former White House Communications Director starts her own crisis management firm only to realize her clients are not the only ones with secrets.”
Law In Culture source
For my law in culture review I choose the film Legally Blonde. It’s a movie about a girl who goes through a breakup and in order to get over it she decides to go to Harvard Law School to get back with her boyfriend.
SAMPLE post: “War and Peace” by Leo Tolstoy!
Hello,
The cultural source I will use for my “Law in Culture Review” assignment is a book called “War and Peace” by Leo Tolstoy. (Actually it’s two books: it’s REALLY long. with more than 1200 pages, so it’s broken into two volumes!) It was published in 1869. According to Wikipedia, it “chronicles the French invasion of Russia and the impact of the Napoleonic era on Tsarist society through the stories of five Russian aristocratic families.” It is law-themed because it tells the story of a war, and wars usually occur because one nation believes another nation has broken the law, and there are many laws relating to wars, like how they can be declared and how they are conducted. I don’t think I can read all 1200 pages this semester, but I’ll definitely read at least 150 pages as required by this assignment, hopefully more. Wish me luck!
