The Communication Design Department is seeking a Grace Gallery Intern for Spring 2022.
The intern’s responsibilities would include:
-
- Researching, designing, and producing graphics for upcoming student BFA show and for past student shows including email headers, website and social media posts, and other marketing and promotional materials.
- Developing video promoting the Gallery shows to students  and also video explaining the process of submission.
- Developing video for promoting the students shows to groups outside the college.
- Assisting Faculty Research in Virtual Gallery Shows via A.R. technology that might be used in the future in addition to the OpenLab online gallery site.
- Moving existing exhibition content onto a new website.
- Working with the Grace Gallery Faculty Community to streamline and improve the digital student submission process
- Other various tasks as assigned.
The student would need to be fully equipped to work remotely, have full access to and
expertise in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop.and a working knowledge of
Microsoft Office and Zoom software are essential. Experience with WordPress and the
OpenLab is highly desired although these can be learned on the job. IF you are interested in

Role and Responsibilities.Â
Depending upon availability, this position can be held by one or more candidatesÂ
We ask that the intern approach this opportunity with professionalism and dedication for a period of at least 3 months. The schedule is flexible based upon availability however we require a minimum of 1-2 days a week. This is an excellent opportunity to provide visual support for a diverse range of projects, with potential for long-term involvement.Â
Requirements:Â
- • An eye for clean and sophisticated design aestheticsÂ
- • Ability to wireframe web pages for external productionÂ
- • Willingness to ask questions and respond to feedbackÂ
- • Ability to brainstorm with staff to develop and give visual form to marketing toolsÂ
- • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Squarespace and working knowledge of CSSÂ
- • Proficiency with app design programs such as Invision are a plus;Â
- • Sensitive to timely completion of project to support broader firm milestonesÂ
- • Must have a professional demeanor to engage with staff and outside consultantsÂ
- • Dedication and a positive “can-do” attitudeÂ
- • We are able to support the fulfillment of school credit requirements. The position offers a weekly stipend and with potential for a full-time paid position for the right talent
