Marketing Intern with NYCHA this Summer/Position Does have a 800 Stipend for the Work

Title: Marketing Intern

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) in partnership with New York City College of Technology (City Tech) seeks to hire a skilled and creative college student to serve as a Marketing Intern from June 2021 – August 2021.

The Marketing Intern will work in support of the CITY TECH + NYCHA ARCHscholars program. CITY TECH + NYCHA ARCHscholars is a design studio lab providing NYCHA residents ages 16-24 years old the opportunity to work alongside architecture students at City Tech. Together the NYCHA and City Tech scholars collaborate on projects that enhance their awareness of critical design issues. Over the course of a semester, the ARCHscholars work to develop strategies for creating healthy and durable housing and community spaces for New Yorkers.ARCHscholars will co-publish/present academic documents, explore career opportunities in architecture and urban design, and participate in cultural enrichment activities, such as visiting local art and design exhibits.

Reporting to the NYCHA Resident Engagement Resident Programs Unit, the Marketing Intern will work 10-15 hours per week for a $800 stipend from June 2021 through August 2021. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Design marketing collateral (flyers, brochures, social media content)
  2. Create video promotional pieces to promote the ARCHscholars program to students on social media and the NYCHA website.
  3. Participate in weekly planning meetings
  4. Incorporate user experience design concepts to thoughtfully promote ARCHscholars
  5. Work independently and collaboratively while organizing workflow of designs to meet deadlines
  6. Perform other related duties as assigned

Desired skills:

  • Customer-focused and professional demeanor
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or similar graphic design apps
  • Clear and effective communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Detail-oriented, demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Self-organized, effectively manages time and meets deadlines

City Tech Recovery Corp Intern Spot with COMD department/Apply ASAP

Dear COMD students:

Through the CUNY Recovery corp, there is a spot available this summer as a paid intern with the COMD department. This internship would run from:

July 5th -12th  – Student work starts

Aug 9th- 16th Student work ends

The pay rate is $15 an hour and it is for $25 hours per week.

The Communication Design Department is seeking  Communication Design Internship Site Web Development intern for Summer 2021.  The intern’s responsibilities would include:

    • Upgrading the Current Communication Design Internship Coordination Site from WordPress Classic Editor to WordPress Block Editor.
    • Redesigning the site so that it is easier to navigate and more visually appealing.
    • Updating outdated material on the site and checking that all hyperlinks are still operational.
    • Updating the current employer database and assisting in the Creation of an Employer contact list that is more accessible to students and more easily searched.
    • Add pages to the website that focus on employers in specific areas of student interest: illustration, advertising, web design and motion graphics.
    • Researching, designing, and producing graphics for upcoming studelent shows and for past student shows including email headers, website and social media posts, and other marketing and promotional materials
    • Video promotional pieces to promote the internship site to students, on social media and on the Openlab.
    • Various tasks as assigned.

Paid Public Art Summer Internship with the Trust for Governor’s Island/Deadline May 25th to Apply


The Trust for Governors Island is offering a full-time, paid summer internship for an undergraduate or graduate student to work with its Arts and Culture team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in the planning, organization and production of future large-scale public art commissions that will take place on Governors Island, a 172-acre park and public space in NY Harbor with over 800,000 visitors annually. The Public Art Intern will work closely with the VP of Art & Culture and Head Curator and Director of Public Programs in development of major public artworks and associated public programming by conducting research, coordinating project logistics and some on-site production work if schedules allow.

The ideal candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Successful candidates may have a demonstrated interest in public art, production, cultural programming, art history and related fields, as well as some experience working in a public space or cultural institution. Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Office software and other digital tools to manage large quantities of information and coordinate multifaceted projects.

The internship runs from June 7 through August 27, 2021, with some flexibility to accommodate alternate or part time schedules if needed for the right candidate. This position can be either fully remote or a hybrid of remote and on-site (outdoor) work if the successful candidate is located in NYC.



  • High School graduate currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Graduate College program with a focus on Art, Art History, Curatorial Practice, or related fields.
  • Experience:
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Organizational and research skills to prioritize and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus.

Summer and Fall Intern Spots for Calling All Graphics

Job Description is Below for Calling All Graphics:

Design printed material, such as flyers, menus, menu boards, signage, logos, etc as requested by  clients to meet their marketing needs.  Knowledge and experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.  Familiar with Social Media software (possibly Canva) and be able to post onto Social Media to engage more clients and offer more services. Also, Knowledge of After Effects is a plus.
