City Tech’s PLAN Week Begins Monday, October 26th

Prepare to Locate Your Advisor Now (PLAN) week begins next Monday here at City Tech. Please check your emails for information about virtual events hosted by the various departments on campus scheduled for October 26th through October 29th. 
These sessions are designed to assist you in planning your Spring 2021 schedules as registration for Spring 2021 begins on November 11th for Honors and ASAP students. For all students, registration begins November 13th. So, we want to encourage all of you to meet with an advisor prior to those dates to discuss your schedules. 
Our department  will be hosting a Q & A advisement session for Freshmen and Sophmore students from 5 to 6 on Tuesday, October 27th. It will be held in Blackboard Collaborate in the COMD virtual advisement office at

Brooklyn Navy Yard Seeking Spring 2021 Communication Design Interns

BNY is offering Spring 2021 internships for credit/experience, if you would like to apply. Interviews Begin in November so APPLY ASAP. The information is below and will be posted on CityTechConnect РSymplicity.

Internship Details:

  • Start and end date: Jan. 29th¬†– May 7th
  • Hours: 10-15 hours/a week
  • This is an unpaid internship and the students will receive a college course credit for their part-time participation. If accepted, the students will need to enroll in an internship course at your school and show proof of enrollment before beginning their internship.
  • Students are matched with BNY businesses¬†based¬†on¬†their majors/minors, skills, and career path.
  • We are balancing remote work with in-person¬†opportunities,¬†based¬†on¬†health requirements and businesses‚Äô individual preferences.

  • We prefer students with majors that require an internship credit before graduating but all current students are eligible and we are open to accepting students that need the experience.

Are you interested in the Green New Deal? If yes, Then Intern with the Urban Green Council in Spring 2021

The Urban Green Council has a PAID social media and marketing internship available for Spring 2021. Responsibilities include:

  • Curate content for social media and the Urban Green website.
  • Manage webpage analytics and tracking.
  • Assist with graphic design projects.
  • Work on special projects as required.
  • Provide minor updates and maintenance to the Urban Green website as needed

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program (graduate or undergraduate); communications, ¬† marketing, design and/or environmental field of study preferred.
  • Interest in and understanding of green building and environmental issues.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Proactive with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Motivated to learn and develop new skills.
