Angela Iacono-Assignment 8

March 24, 2022 / Angela / 0 Comments
The first ad is from the 1960’s that is advertising cigarettes. The ad portrays black Americans as strong, and powerful young people. It also made a significant impact during the civil rights movement. The second ad is from a makeup company called Rare Beauty made by Selena Gomez. She empowers all woman to feel beautiful, feel unique and rare. Her makeup brand is all about being yourself and she even states that you don’t need to wear makeup to be beautiful. Overall, her brand embraces all types of woman and their unique qualities that make them who they are. The final ad is from Always, which makes menstrual hygiene products. Their Campaign like a girl was making the phrase “Like A Girl” more empowering instead of it being an insult that people would use. I really liked this campaign and their ads when I saw them and really had a huge impact on me!
