Both articles Graphic Design Theory and Design As Art had interesting points. The role that is designed in our lives and culture is a huge part role. It goes way back from 15000 BC till today. Each part of a design was made by choices. For example, “…He gives the right weight to each part of the project in hand, and he knows that the ultimate for, of the objects, is psychologically vital when the potential buyer sign up his mind. He, therefore, tries to give it a form as appropriate as possible to its function…” The designer will provide for the client’s needs. That’s one of the serivces that a designer needs to do.

Design is way different from other creativity because we select choices that will have an impact to the world instead of ourselves. We’re designing for clients, sometimes we have to push our ego to the side. “Can we imagine a ‘No Overtaking’ sign with a coffee and chocolate car on a violet background? Well, yes. We can imagine it for fun, but we cannot use it for a roadsign in real life.” Making these silly choices will give us a laugh but won’t make a difference in the real world. This is reality in the design industry.

Designers should able to question why this color, font, image or symbol was selected for this sign. Asking questions will develop a creative mindset to asking unsolvable theothrical questions. What designers struggle the most in today’s world is balancing of clients needs and personal references. The designers are responsible to solving problems because their roles is to provide strategies that can help the clients to reach their goal.
