This was pretty hard for me. It was hard to get distortion on my face as well as to work with my camera to get it to do so. It seemed to be easier when I used another subject as the focus.

Using the fill for me was a bit difficult at first. However, once I got the hang of it I was able to see how subtle and soft the shadows would get.

Something that was difficult for me here was making the shadow a little softer. For the first, I took the photo from an oblique angle. For the second, I used a lamp and put the ginger directly under just to soften the shadow.
