These are good examples of Rembrandt, Butterfly or front light and split light.
Your broad light example is really interesting with a very dramatic highlight on the subject’s face. While the subject’s face is in a 3/4 view this is not really broad light.
Your short light example – a bit distant – is actually short light. The light is falling on the side of the face with the visible ear.
