    Your examples don’t show the effect of distance from the light source. The cloth behind you defeats the point.

    Try taking one where you are very close to the window with no curtain behind you. The room should be fairly dark.

    Then try one 8 to 10 feet back from the window. Now the light should be even and your face and the room will be about the same exposure.
