Our thought is we would bring this candidate in to work with one of our senior draftsmen to learn our industry and eventually be able to work on their own preparing shop drawings for us. We prefer to hire someone with a strong background in AutoCAD that will hopefully stay with us long term.

Surveyor, Newark, NJ

Job Description:

Interface with consulting surveyors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
Perform land surveying calculations.
Write metes and bounds descriptions.
Prepare site and subdivision plans using MicroStation CAD software.
Development and maintenance of various corporate spatial datasets.
Prepare reports, graphic and tabular, using Microstation CAD software tools for analysis.

Required Skills:

Minimum 5 years direct experience performing land surveying calculations, preparing boundaries and site plans using MicroStation CAD and COGO programs, writing metes and bounds descriptions.
Experience in project management with strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently, demonstrated organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
