Alua is a Data Science major at City Tech. They became interested in data science after working as an assistant to a data analyst at one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in their home country, Kazakhstan. That experience made them realize how much they enjoy working with data and solving real-world problems. Previously, they studied business mathematics in Germany, which gave them a strong foundation in analytical thinking. Outside of academics, they enjoy playing the piano (they studied at a music school for eight years), stretching (inspired by their background in cheerleading), reading novels (especially works by Brontë sisters, Jane Austen, and Agatha Christie), and journaling, which helps them reflect and stay creative.
