Black History Month: Why it should matter to Latinos

As we come into the month of February, Black History Month will be widely discussed. While many support and celebrate the time taken to recognize important Black men and women that have contributed to American society in varied ways, we often don’t center the conversation on how the history of African Americans, in particular their struggles, have impacted different communities. Latinx Americans, more specifically, have both been impacted and benefited from gains made during the civil rights movements.
