In this project I explore Filippo Tommaso Marinetti’s “The Future Manifesto ” idea of how speed was the ultimate goal to achieve greatness is represented in the design of today’s UPC barcode, bringing speed to the world of commerce and also into the avant-garde art movement.
For this project, I research family guy  and their use of satire to mock the stereotypes of genders that we see almost every day in other media.

Love’s Baby Soft is a company from 1969–1980 that came out in 1975 with a campaign called “Innocence is sexier than you think”. A problematic set of images and a commercial let people glimpse what was socially normal to an extent for the times. An image showcasing a young girl made to cater to the male gaze while really trying to hit all the boxes for inappropriate. From props to wardrobe, it seems impossible to overlook the genuine message from the company.

This is my revised Final report outline with annotated bibliography
Having an extensive selection to pick from to write about, I landed on Mrs. Ringgold. After visiting the New Museum, it reminded me the author of my favorite children’s book had many contemporary and multi-media art pieces. Personally, the major attraction to me was “Woman on a Bridge #1 of 5: Tar Beach”. Going into the meaning and the background information while explaining why that is. Explaining how the artwork is broken down to symbolism, donations, denotations, and the Futurist theory.
