HW #3: Color, Food Photography, and Instagram

This is a plate of leftovers from our Thanksgiving night. I forgot to actually take a photo during this occasion, but I hope this will suffice. I have seen that food photography can be essential for how a person lives as well as being as trivial as a mere hobby. It often helps restaurants and other dining establishments to advertise their food to people looking for a good meal. There may be people who just take pictures of food because they enjoy the process. For me, I see it mainly as a hobby since I only take photographs of the world around me for the fun of it, or to share with my friends. However, there is potential for being able to make a living off of photography. Many magazines and websites use different photos to make themselves look appealing and sophisticated enough for people to be interested in them and bring in business. I’ve honestly thought about using my love of photography for this purpose, but have never gotten around to committing to it. Perhaps that will be one of my resolutions for the upcoming year. Either way, I believe that food photography is done for fun rather than profit in my case.
