Intermediate & Advanced Fashion
Today I observed as the student’s continued working on their African Inspired garment designs. The teacher showed and explained to me the criteria of the project. Each student was to create an African inspired textile and incorporate it into their designs. The students were required to create 2 full garment designs (male or female) and render using learned marker techniques. I was informed that the class was an integration of Intermediate and Advanced Fashion Design students therefore, some students may be at a higher level than others in terms of their use of techniques, etc. I walked around the room to get familiar with the project the students were working on and also observed how the teacher walked around to work with each student one on one. As the students worked, the teacher played a designer fashion show on the smartboard to enhance the classroom creativity and environment.
