The road to finding an internship is not very easy. At first, I applied to not the organization where I am currently an intern. I sent an internship application and my resume to a graphic design company through my professor’s recommendation, but I didn’t receive an offer or interview. The professor recommended another nonprofit organization, the organization I am currently interning for, and I did not get a response after sending my resume and follow-up emails to the organization’s boss. After a Follow-Up call, I finally got a call back from my boss. He gave me an introduction to how the organization works and how everyone works. My first task is to complete the basic information, and bio, upload my professional photo and upload the Internship Agreement that I filled out and signed. I was assigned to the Communications & Marketing Department. Mainly responsible for newsletters, posters, flyers, mailers, postcards, and social media contests.

My internship was recommended by my professor. This is a non-profit organization based in New York. To my great surprise, when I got to know the organization, it was located two blocks from my high school. The company was founded in 2016, and I graduated from high school in 2017 so I didn’t know about this organization at the time. The company’s main business goal is to help those in need build and maintain stable economic communities. Such as the elderly, children, or young people facing financial hardship, provide them with financial and educational support programs. The company is not only growing in the United States, but its business has also expanded to many other countries, such as India, and Southeast Asia.
