I have been able to get my calendar on the sidebar, but still can’t embed it in a page. When it appears on the sidebar, it’s huge. How do I scale it down? Check it out here http://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/tellingbrooklynstorieseng1101f2011/

I used the widget, Jody, and I had to adjust it a lot. The default is 800 X something, and needs to come down. I took it down to 200 by 150 to get this: http://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/scottstestcourse/

That’s pretty small, but Elizabeth said she got hers to fit at a larger size. You can change the size in the stout google calendar settings, which aren’t part of the widget but are instead in the left hand nav of the dashboard (bottom of ‘settings’).

And that’s still a widget/sidebar solution. I haven’t embedded it into a page yet. I’ll give that a try and get back to you.

I got the calendar to fit without looking *too* scrunched at 190 by 170: http://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/testing101. It helps that you can “preview” a saved calendar after tinkering with it — this can save you some trips back and forth to your dashboard.

But that’s still pretty small. Scott, let us know if you manage to embed it — I’m going to look into this too.

    Hi All,

If it turns out that this calendar plugin is not working well, we can and should explore other calendar plugins . . . . .

    Best,

    Good point, Matt!

In the meantime, Jody, I checked the WP plugin directory and it looks like if you copy the Shortcode and Template Tag that appear below the name of a saved calendar, and paste those into your page (in HTML format), it should work. It just did when I tried it: http://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/testing101/calendar/

There’s some more info here, if you’re interested: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/stout-google-calendar/faq/
