Procrastination got real for me in my junior and senior years of Highschool. Only because my grades in specific classes were so bad due to procrastination. For college I plan to block any attempts of procrastination. That’s really how you set yourself up for failure.
I have been a good student in the beginning of high school years. I was also punctual, hardworking and optimistic. After getting the cell phone, my grades and performance were affected that it led to procastination. The way of not doing work and being lazy usually became my habit. I also did submitted my assignment after some deadlines. As my days were getting closer to the exam my procrastinate was getting stronger. I had realize that it was wrong but need fear to get on track. Then, i looked back at my early exam’s scores to improve and get motivated from it. Qradually i began to aware of reality and changed my habit. I got responsible of what should be done and i did it.
Procrastination is one of the most difficult obstacle to overcome in High school, and more if you are a senior, because you think that everything is over, but there’s still classes to pass and regents to take, so it is not over yet. The idea of finally getting out of high school was refreshing at first, so I became a user of procrastination, meaning that all the homework and responsibilities that I had to do I replace it with insignificant activities that didn’t end up giving me something positive. This activities took away significant time to work on what really was important at that time, that was my graduation. What made it hard to overcome procrastination was that going late to class became a habit for me and I wouldn’t think about that class as a class where I had to pay too much attention since it was the spanish class and I thought it was going to be easy for me since spanish is my native language. Most of my classmate in class 2018 took that year to procrastinate and they would go to class just to have fun, but having fun is not forever. Marking period is always around the corner and when that time comes, everyone start to freak out, because everything they did in that marking period was having fun or for me just cutting class, I didn’t like to have “fun” either, just wanted everything to end. Hence having lack of interest in the class and having not much people that will really motivate me to go to class push me to the edge of the fancy word “procrastination”. When I saw my report card, and saw the low grades I thought “is it really necessary to have another incentive apart from graduating with honor?”. That Idea keeps spinning in my head until I decided that it was a time for me to change, and that my graduation was enough reason to speed up and live the lack of interest in school behind. Since that day I started to think about myself and do what it was required for me to do, no matter if my classmate didn’t want to do their homework because at the end is all about being independent and knowing how to manage your time properly. Their will be time to waste but in order to have that, is necessary to respect the time that is destined to work, and having a mindset very organized and knowing every time what is that I have to do help me and I think can help everyone out of the procrastination zone.
Ever since i started high school and started getting huge assignments i would procrastinate and not do it till the day before it was due. this has always been a problem that would always happens with any homework or assignment that was giving to me and by me not doing it it resulted in me getting a bad grade and it affect my average for that class. so I’ve learned that it’s never good to leave assignment till the last minute for it to be done.
The high school that i went to, where each year all the student have to write a research paper. Each year they gave us 4 different topics and each students can pick the topic they like. Three months before it is due different subject teacher goes over different topics for the research paper. Review of the research paper topics starts on january and the final paper is due April. After i picked my topic that i was gonna do i always procrastinate because i know that i have a lot of time to do it. But at the end of March i still didn’t finish doing my research about my topic. Week before its due i would start typing my final paper which was really stressful. And i learn my lesson that you should always take advantage of the time you have.
While I was in High School I procrastinated quite a lot. I will always do my homework the night before and sometimes I will never get it done at all. I will also study for tests the last possible second as well. Each time I procrastinated it was due to the fact that I was extreamly lazy. It will also constantly result in a horrific grade. So I completely agree with what the author is saying in her story. I also promised myself that I will not procrastinate in college at all. If I do procrastinate there will be huge consequences throughout college. There will also be consequences after college as well which will be horrible.
