Sterile and Aseptic Technique

Sterile techniques are applied in many biological  studies that require an isolation of microbial contamination from the specimen of interest. In microbiological studies, the use of nearby flames and consistent use of alcohol on nearby surface helps to preserve your samples.

Aseptic techniques extend upon the environment of which you are working and is used in  Tissue Culturing of cells. While sterile techniques aid in preservation of sterility, or lack of germs. Meanwhile, aseptic techniques strive to keep samples contamination free. This includes free of contamination of microbes and germs, but also extends to other contaminants. The two types of techniques go hand-in-hand.
