Review KaylaDLC Topographical Map

My thoughts on looking at your island name was, that it gives off a repetition of your name echoing 5times. The map key is well understandable as the icons on the map. The height and depth meter was a nice add on to your map, to show the height of each place.Composition shapes and space was drawn well in my opinion and had time put in as a finish. From what you told me in the interview what your map represents I believe your island were past memories you wish you can do over again.

High Key & Low Key

high key n low keyThis is a picture of a  yellow truck toy and a bathroom freshener. The bathroom freshener represents the low key which is mostly darkness and the  yellow toy truck represents high key which represents  light. I took the bright light from in the bathroom and placed it under the bathroom freshener while holding it with the lights off to give it the low key color quality. For the yellow toy truck I turned off the lights to and face the camera almost pointed to the floor so when the flash comes on it reflects the light on to the truck giving the truck a bright glow, (high key)Bathroom freshener in darkness means in darkness there always light and the the toy truck, light reflects off of anythings.

Aural Topographies: Rhythmic Elevations

IMG_0137[1]This map represents me Brendan  who has family all over and wish they lived in one place where I can visit them instead of taking air transportation. The island in the middle is my name and everything thats across the sea is my family and friends. The reason why my name is in the middle because they come to see me.As you can see I made a map key for those who don’t understand the icons on the map.Only one place  in the map on the right top is from a famous game everyone places now. That place is a canyon in gta v that looks like a echo of different names drawn in map form.I’m really proud of my work because its base off me.

Aural Topography: Staccato and Legato

IMG_0130[1]I work hard combing the two songs of staccato and legato and created this lovely piece of art.Combing the two songs was a handful but as you can see the different boxes connected well with each other making harmony. This project on staccato and legato gave me a understanding how different sounds short or long can work together as one and forge outstanding music.

Aural Topographies:Research

Before I started this project, I chose a song by Damian Marley named Affairs of the Hearts. The lyrics and riddim that creates this song is outstanding.I would label it as a song of variety because of the different combination of instruments used to create the riddim. As the song starts the brass instrument is used repeatedly on a pattern. Then once the lyrics begins the drums are played on a separate pattern together with the brass instrument. More in the middle ending of the song, the electric guitar has a solo part which gives the song a better feeling.

My line network is demonstrated mostly in pattern form. Pattern form from the  brass instrument and drums. The brass instrument gives a line of waves like a loud ocean but smooth and the drums are sharp keeping the beat. The two instruments makes harmony together. The electric guitar is a solo piece which is alone on its own rough path giving feeling as I said before. My line of network is from what I hear and what I hear I draw.
