In the third chapter of feed we get to see the relationship of Titus and Violet develop. Violet is independent and outspoken. She is very unusual in the world they live in. She takes Titus on an intellectual journey and he goes willingly.

Through Violet we can begin to understand the moral consequences of this consumer driven government. She has been home-schooled and really educated. Pointing out that getting rid of the trees and replacing them with air factories seems counterproductive is considered
“snotty”(p.125). She is idealistic and Titus father reacts to this concept by defending it, “Do you know how inefficient trees are next to an air factory?”(p.125) Titus is torn between his father who represents the establishment and the irresistible Violet. Titus is fine with the idea of being rewarded with an upcar by his father. He is really very immature, not quite his own person. In the world they live in, he may just remain this way.

Since the experience on the moon Violet has introduced Titus to another way of thinking. She seems torn with wanting to fit in and hating the feed. She has very strong feelings about society. When Titus spends they day at the mall with her, she is “trying to create a customer profile that is so screwed, no one can market to it.”(p.98) He goes along with her and considers it exciting. When he questions her, she flirts with him instead of answering. They are very different.

Violet is smarter than The other teenagers Titus hangs out with. She has never been to a party before she meets him and her uneasiness is felt by everyone. This is a girl that didn’t have access to the feednet till she was seven. She has not been to school with other kids. Violet is not typical and the others do not understand her. They are not really capable of much it seems. They are consumed by the advertising, following all the trends. Using your brain is reserved for very few in this book. This is an attraction for Titus or maybe he is just curious.

Titus spends much of his time defending Violet. It makes him feel smarter to be around her although he may not understand why. She is very complicated. She has a real mind and the guts to use it. Still, she is vulnerable physically and somewhat on the edge. There is a question as to whether she will survive and Titus is determined to stay involved. Maybe he has begun to understand the lives they live. He is not the type to question or rock the boat. He simply wants to be happy. She has influenced him in a way that has never happened.

The complications of Violets words have taken its toll on their relationship. Although Titus parents will accept Violet as long as he is happy, his friends won’t. It may be a decision he will have to make. Titus wants to save Violet but it may be out of his control. He wants to spend time with her but she does not really want to be with his friends. When she attempts it is not successful. And then her body goes limp.

In the part 3 Utopia of the book Feed by M.T. Anderson begin with things are get back to normal since Titus and his friends got hacked in the moon. They go back to the earth and the Feed it works again; everything is return in their normal life. Titus soon has party invited by Quendy, it’s to celebrate their feed is repaired. Titus picks up Violet go together. Violet feels so excited about it because she never join the real party before; she only seen a party on the feed. Later, they arrive at the party. Calista doesn’t like Violet and says she is kind of stuck-up, but Quendy does happy that Violet with Titus together.  Titus worries about Violet because she still has some affected by the last time hacked via she tells him. After the party night, Titus got the dream that he can play many free games from the Feed and only in his sleep. The next, Violet has new project to tell Titus, they are decide to meet in the mal. She says that the Feed makes everyone so simple. She wants to create a customer profile that the corporations unable market. Also, they go many places to just asking for the ridiculous question but did not buy. Before they go to the bed, Violet told Titus that everything goes crazy; she got everything that from the feed what they obscured at today. On the later chapter, i know that Violet was born on the poor family. She couldn’t like Titus could have toy gun, so she took anything object as a gun. They are both have good time since they make up stories laughed and laughed. Titus was shocked when Violet got the feed at her 7 year old and her father needed to save money up to a year for her moon trip. Then, Titus feels so sad about while Violet said the feed makes people foolish and selfish…Since Titus’ parents buy him a car, he with Violet intimacy gets much closer and love grown.

As far as i read, i like that Violet has dissimilar opinion on the feed and acts differently.  I like the way she has individual opinion and not influenced by the other people or feed. i guess this book try to tell us, It’s good always be ourselves, we are control the Feed, not him.

Utopia, part 3 of “feed”, Titus acknowledges that things are normal after the hacking and hospital. Few days later, Titus went out on errands and met Violet for the first time after the moon. He picks her up in his father’s upcar to a party at Quendy’s house. Violet was excited to be going to her first real party and feels special. At the party, a lot was going on, friends were chatting and making fun with each other; however, Quendy wasn’t happy with Calista because Calista had her hand around Link and was jealous.

Marty brought in the topic of Coke, everyone was delighted talking about the particular thing they like about coke, Loga said he like the refreshing flavor, Quendy said she likes the regular coke but also the fantastic taste of the Diet Coke, Titus said that he likes Coke due to the energy, then came Violet to say what she likes about Coke, Violet said, “I love the great feeling of Coke’s carbonation going down my throat, all the pain, like….” With lack of words to continue, she appeared funny as the others were looking at her like a stupid person. I think, this could be a manifestation of her lack of exposure which could have been a reason to feel so special and happy with Titus when he asked her to party but without waiting the party to end Violet and Titus left.

Their lives have become customized to the extent that every aspect of it was controlled by corporations. Like Violet said “When you have the feed all your, life you’re brought up to not think about things. Like them never telling you that it’s a republic and not a democracy. It’s something that makes me angry, what people don’t know about these days. Because of the feed, we’re raising a nation of idiots. Ignorant, self-centered idiots.” Unlike Titus who thinks that corporations are better than government in managing the people and institutions as they teaches how the world is used and take care of children, Violet was aware of the manipulations carried out by corporations on their actions and behavior and opt to customize her feed on a way that she can be invisible because of her perception of control.  With the feeds there is nothing hidden, you are observed, monitored, your choice and ability to make sound decision is controlled worst of it, when malfunctioned it can be fatal as Violet put it, “Nobody knows. The feed is tied in to everything. Your body control, your emotions, your memory. Everything. Sometimes feed errors are fatal…”

In a Utopian world where everything is imaginary,   yet still there are limitations with the proper functioning of feed which shows that technology is not 100% reliable. There could be breakdowns or coding errors. However, I can imagine a world of that nature where everyone is assigned a unique IP address and networked, knowing directly what runs in the mind of others, I’m convinced, it will reduce if not eliminate criminal activities. With advances in Information Technology and IP address moving from IPV4 to IPV6, pretty soon, every manufactured product including house appliances, vehicles, airplanes and the likes will be assigned an IP address for easy trace.

The beginning of part three everything was back to normal, and everyone went back  to earth also everyone’s feet began to work again, even though some people had some problems with it sometimes. Then as we all know, Titus and violet are kind of an item. Titus and his friends had a party at the end of the week at Quendy’s house. Quendy’s parents were off choking somewhere.  Then Titus went to pick up violet in his flying car,and it is the first time they saw each other. they meet at the mall near violet’s house and they went to the party together. while they were on their way to the party they got a chance to talk a little bit to know each.violet has never been to a real party before, she only saw one only on feed.she was really happy that Titus ask her  to go with him. Quendy says she is happy that he and Violet are a couple, but Calista says Violet is a snob. Titus chats with Violet and finds out Calista makes fun of Violet because she used a big vocabulary in their conversation and she looked up  the meaning of the word after they finished talking. Titus chat her to see if she is okay and she said she is fine just having a friendly conversation with Calista. but we all know that is not true.days after the party violet and Titus meet at the mall and were just hangout going from store to store looking for thing that they were not going to buy..violet is having too much fun with Titus. she is happy that she finally have a real friend she can have fun with  because she was home schooled. at some point when they were together violet told Titus about a research project she is working on.She says the corporations have figured out what everyone wants due to the feeds, but this makes everyone simpler. Her project is she creates a customer profile that is so confusing none of the corporations can market to it. while they were talking Titus ask her why her father did’t come to the moon to visit her at the hospital and she told him that he could’t come because it cause a lot of money to to go to the moon and her father would save up to a year to pay for her to go to the moon.Titus is amaze that it’s expensive it is to go to the moon…so after they both went home Titus’s parents  were talking to him and telling him that he has gone through so much and they are very proud of him and that they want to buy him a up car.so the next day he went car shopping with his dad and violet.they were so excited about the car shopping.Violet says Titus is lucky because he gets this car as a reward for being brave. She tells him they do not have to go to court because the hacker died. Titus is surprised because he does not know this. Titus chooses the Dodge in red.they went back to Titus house to have dinner with violet.they were talking and Titus mention that him  and violet are going going out the next day to the park or the country  but the father tells them the forest is gone for an air factory. Violet gets upset and says trees can make air and that people need trees…Titus went to violet’s house to pick her up so they can go drive around while he was there he met her father for the first time.and he describe how messy the house was and her father…after  a little while they left the house and were driving around for like an hour and while they were in the car violet tell him about her life story ,and how her mother left them wend she was six or seven years also how how  father raised her up by himself and home school her.and Titus also tell her his family’s story but is was not as interesting as her story.  he was glad that they sheared  there stories.when they got to the country beef there wasn’t much a lot of people there so it was really peaceful. they walked  with each other to and they  have fun, also they watch the sun set and he talked about how he was turned on when she was talking about self-control.  Titus has strange nightmares. He is in a foreign place, seeing riots and fields of black. A kid looks at him. A gun points at him. It all makes no sense.  so he ask her  if he know  who the intruder is but she don’t. so Titus went back to sleep and the feed was back to normal.so there was a party going on and everyone expect Titus and violet to  dressed in riot clothing from the Watts…at the party they played a game called spin the bottle and everyone was having fun until Marty spun the bottle and landed on violet so Marty marty got up and he kind off started to disrespect violet .she than got mad and got up and stared to yell at him and everyone the.Titus saw how violet was looking and he new she was not okay and he asked people to call the ambulance but no one helped him to call.every one was like she is in mal..violet has mention to Titus about how she hasn’t been feeling t well since the hacking on the moon…..
